The Philippines: Too Wet And Too Hot

The weather that we are experiencing right now has never been as extreme as before. More frequent weather disturbances, such as typhoons, along with extreme heat, have been affecting us in the Philippines. This is because of Climate Change and Global Warming. This is caused by greenhouse gases that trap heat, making the Earth warmer.

One of the main causes of Climate Change is pollution, specifically air pollution. Gases coming out of cars, factories, and the burning of fossil fuels and trees are the cause of air pollution. This air pollution can not only make our planet warmer, but it can also cause respiratory diseases such as lung cancer. This issue shouldn't be ignored.

In spite of all this, we Filipinos remain resilient and optimistic. Even after every typhoon, we still remain strong and recover. Other people try to get the best of our situation by making the floodwater their own swimming pools. This shows that we Filipinos adapt together to rise up to even tough challenges.

Even if Climate Change is happening, we can still do something to help our planet. One of the ways to mitigate the effects of Climate Change is to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We can also avoid burning garbage and use reusable materials like tumblers. Carpooling and walking if the destination is close can reduce air pollution. Even these small actions can make a difference. Let's all work together to help stop Climate Change and heal our planet.
